MAURICE R. GREENBERG, Honorable Chairman
Mr. Greenberg is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American International Group, Inc. Prior to his association with AIG, Mr. Greenberg was with the Continental Casualty Company, which he joined in 1952.

Mr. Greenberg served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and in the Korean conflict, rising to the rank of captain. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star. He received his pre-law certificate from the University of Miami and an LL.B. from New York Law School in 1950. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1953. He has been granted honorary degrees from the New England School of Law, New York Law School, Bryant and Middlebury Colleges, and Brown and Pace Universities.

Mr. Greenberg is a member of The Business Roundtable; a member of the President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations; vice chairman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies; chairman of U.S.-China Business Council; chairman of the U.S.-ASEAN Council on Business and Technology; a trustee of The Asia Society; vice chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations; and founding chairman of the U.S.-Philippine Business Committee.

Mr. Greenberg is chairman emeritus and serves on the Board of Governors of The Society of The New York Hospital, and is active with a number of other civic and charitable organizations. He is chairman of The Starr Foundation, and in that capacity he oversees the disbursement of major financial support to academic, medical, cultural and public policy institutions.


JUSTIN YIFU LIN
Dr. Justin Yifu Lin is Professor and Founding Director of the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University, Professor of Economics at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Adjunct Professor at Australian National University. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Chicago in 1986 and returned to China in 1987 as the Deputy Director of Rural Development & Research Center under the State Council. Dr. Lin is currently a member of the National Committee of China People’s Political Consultation Conference. He is also a Senior Advisor to Beijing Municipal Government, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. An internationally recognized leading agricultural economist in China and a prolific writer, Dr. Lin has published articles in many professional journals and is the author of eight books.


FRED HU
Mr. Hu is managing director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 1997, Mr. Hu was head of research at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to that, Mr. Hu was a staff member at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C., where he was engaged in macroeconomic research and policy consultations for a number of member country governments including China. Mr. Hu was a consultant to the World Bank in 1987 and was an associate at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University in 1988.

Mr. Hu has been co-director and a senior fellow (non-resident) of the National Center for Economic Research (NCER) at Tsinghua University in Beijing since 1996. Mr. Hu has advised the Chinese government on financial reform, pension reform, and macroeconomic policies. He also sits on the advisory board for Bank of China, Huarong Asset Management Company, and the South China Morning Post, and is a director of the Applied Research Council, Hong Kong SAR Government.

Mr. Hu has published extensively on China, Asia-Pacific economies, and financial markets. His latest book (co-authored with Jonathan Anderson), The Five Great Myths about China and the World, has been translated into and published in Chinese by a Mainland publishing house. Mr. Hu has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Harvard and Tsinghua Universities respectively. Mr. Hu is a member of the editorial board for several academic journals including International Economic Review, and is a columnist for Caijin, China’s leading financial and business magazine. Mr. Hu holds an MS in engineering science from Tsinghua University, as well as an MA and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.


YONGJIAN JIN
Mr. Jin is the Founder and President of China United Nations Association. A distinguished career diplomat, Mr. Jin spent 12 years working at the United Nations representing China, starting as the First Secretary and then as Counselor and subsequently as Ambassador. During his diplomatic services, Mr. Jin played an important and instrumental role in assisting China’s WTO negotiations while stationed in Geneva. In 1996, Mr. Jin was elected the Under Secretary General of UN responsible for UN summit meetings on global economic cooperation, major economic and technological projects in Asia. Mr. Jin held that position for 5 years until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Jin is a graduate of Beijing Foreign Language Institute.
